Practical Horsemanship: Practicing Professional Level
To become a Practical Horsemanship Practising Professional students must have completed both levels including the examination and then undertake an extensive internship with Dan & Grant working closely alongside them both on a day to day basis. Length of internship to be decided by Dan & Grant in respect of each individual. Upon completion of the internship successful candidates will receive Dan & Grants full backing, support and be recommended for work in the individual’s chosen area.

Our current Practical Horsemanship Practicing Professionals are Dani White and Emily Lindholm.

Why choose Practical Horsemanship Courses?

Dan & Grants’ experience comes from doing the job on a daily basis. They not only teach or perform public demonstrations, but have busy yards taking in problem and young horses or are out performing regular callouts up and down the country and across Europe.

As each horse is an individual this gives the boys a vast array of ideas and experience as to how to train each horse and help each owner. These ideas and experiences can then be passed on to their students.

The courses are designed to cover every level of experience and cater for every need, from the single horse owner looking for day to day ideas, to build a better understanding and relationship with their horse, to individuals looking for a career working with these methods and all those in between.

The courses are taught in a fun and relaxed manner. Remember we have horses for pleasure. Our intention through education is to make every moment spent with your horse exactly that.

We aim on Practical Horsemanship courses to not only provide excellent theory-based tuition but also to give each student extensive hands on practical time with a wide variety of horses.

To bring out the best in each student we strongly encourage a team atmosphere amongst our students, as teamwork is so important when training horses. Our courses are not only a place of study but are also social events bringing together likeminded people and ideas.

The courses can be booked individually and taken in any order, however, students that have completed the three day introduction to Practical Horsemanship course will get priority for places when booking further courses.

Competition Winner's Free Course!

Courses2

On the 30th August 2008 our competition winners from The Royal Show 2008 attended a free one day course. During the day each student had a chance to learn and practice Monty Robert's method of communication and body language, human to human body language, tacking up and longlining, ground handling exericses including l-shape, tarpulin and desensitisation to plastic. They also had a chance to watch Ossy (demonstration horse from the Royal) continue with his work at Grant's yard. We also demonstrated riding techniques with one student who had lost her confidence. The students experienced working with a wide variety of horses including thier own. The owners had a chance to bond with thier own horses, work with ground handling exercises and we even helped with a mounting issue! We all had a great day and learnt alot!
